Delivery Policy

Melissa’s Florist & Gifts delivers premium quality flowers and gifts to all Melbourne metro suburbs. We offer same-day delivery or select-date delivery for Melbourne and Mount Waverley suburbs. We deliver to 450+ Melbourne suburbs around the CBD. Open early, and close late, our deliveries are sent between 8 AM and 7 PM. Free delivery applies to select local suburbs!

Delivery Terms and Conditions

What happens if I provide the wrong address?

If the flowers have not been delivered yet, and you inform us early, we can update the delivery address, but the delivery fee may vary according to our delivery cost. If the new delivery fee exceeds the original delivery cost, you are expected to pay for the excess.

If the delivery has already taken place, changing the delivery address will incur a new delivery fee. $10.00 re-delivery fee is a point of reference. If we are unable to retrieve the flowers from the wrong address, you will also need to pay for the flowers again. To action repayment, open the link emailed by Melissa’s Florist & Gifts and pay at checkout. Alternatively, you can choose to collect the order from the wrong address and re-deliver by yourself.

Please note: Usually, the delivery driver will ask for the recipient’s name at the address in order to locate the resident, and if he is unsure if this is the right address, he will contact you by your provided contact details. If you are in-contactable and do not respond, we will leave the flowers in a safe place at the provided delivery address. To prevent this, ensure you are contactable on the day of delivery.

To arrange a re-delivery, please contact us immediately. Re-delivery incurs a $10.00 re-delivery fee. If the delivery driver is off duty and we are unable to re-deliver on the same day, you can arrange a new delivery date with us.

Our request: Please double check your delivery address by contacting the recipient. Everyone loves surprises, but an incorrect address is no-one’s favourite surprise. Our delivery drivers are humans too, and it is difficult for all parties – recipient, driver and customer – when the delivery address is wrong.

Delivery details: Melissa’s Florist & Gifts always strives to deliver your arrangements safely and on time. We ask our flower delivery drivers to hand-deliver your flowers with extreme care. We send you a photo of your flowers beforehand so you can see exactly what you are sending to your loved ones! As we supervise every step of the flower delivery process, you will receive tracking updates as to the progress of your order.

What do you do if there’s no one home when you deliver?

If the recipient is not at home when we deliver the flowers, our delivery drivers will leave the flowers in a safe place in front of the door. If you prefer otherwise, don’t hesitate to let us know in the delivery instructions at checkout. Keep in mind that extra delivery fees will apply for re-delivery.

  • (1) Please remember: when placing your order, make sure all delivery and recipient contact details are correct, including any special instructions ie. Security gate, apartment number, unit number.

Delivery quick tips: Building Complexes, Apartments, Units and Flats have extra delivery details – make sure you have the full address. Hospitals require a recipient name, ward number and bed number. Ensure the recipient is in the hospital and has not been discharged. If the patient is in the ICU, do not order flowers. The ICU does not accept flowers. Inform us early about business and school opening hours or if they are closed on that day. If the house has a gate, please let us know.

Missed delivery: If no one is home to receive the flower delivery, we will leave them in a suitable place if appropriate and safe. If not, we will hold onto the flowers until arrangements for a re-delivery are made. This may incur further delivery charges. Re-delivery on the same-day has no guarantees.

  • (2) Once items have been delivered, “Melissa’s Florist and Gifts” will not accept liability for any items that may be lost, stolen or damaged after delivery has taken place.

We provide same-day delivery every day (unless we are not accepting same-day deliveries on that day). We must receive your order before 3 PM EST. Orders received after 3 PM EST will not be delivered. You must be contactable by phone or call us if you place an order after 3 PM EST. 

Melissa’s Florist reserves the right to refuse deliveries or request delivery fee payment for orders that have not paid the issued delivery fee. Melissa’s Florist reserves the right to refuse deliveries on dates we are closed for same-day delivery.

Cancellations

If you would like to cancel your order, please contact us 48 hours prior to the delivery date of your of your specified order. If your flower arrangement has not been made or delivered, you can cancel your order and receive a full refund. You can contact us by emailing hello@melissasfloristandgifts.com.au or calling 04 06 541 118. If your flower arrangement has not been made or delivered, you can cancel your order and receive a full refund. You will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. If a lesser period of notice is given, we will charge a cancellation fee of 20%.

However, once your order is in transit or has completed delivery, cancellations are no longer possible or you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the order total so that we can recover delivery costs and cost of goods sold. On busy occasions, like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, call us immediately to cancel because we may take longer to respond. This policy only applies to good faith bona fide cancellations. We do not tolerate misuse of our Cancellation Policy.

Quick FAQs

My loved one hasn’t received my order because the shipping address is incorrect. What should I do? Orders will be delivered to the address you have provided at checkout. Please ensure it is correct prior to submitting an order and check again upon checkout. Anything we are unable to deliver or delivered to an unknown address will result in new delivery charges, which will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

Florists’ discretion: Specific flower species may differ based on seasonal availability. We try our best to match what you see and only substitute with a similar colour, shape. We always ensure we send something similar and just as pretty! Stem count, packaging and container may vary. Measurements should only be viewed as approximates, and are subject to natural fluctuations in production time.
